Person rowing a boat shown in side and overhead views

BOAT 01

A traditional rowboat stretches long and narrow, its hull curved gracefully to glide smoothly across water. The bow rises slightly at the front while the stern curves upward at the back. Along the interior, wooden seats are spaced evenly from end to end, providing stable places for passengers to sit. Two oars lie across the boat, one positioned at the front, the other in the middle section. The gunwales run along both sides, creating clean lines that define the vessel’s shape. Thwart boards connect each side, adding structural support and serving as additional seating. From the overhead view, the boat’s symmetry becomes clear, perfectly balanced from bow to stern, built for stability and smooth passage. Every element serves a purpose: the hull cuts through water, the oars propel forward, the seats offer rest. It’s a simple design refined over generations for one essential task, carrying people across water with quiet efficiency.
